Merry Christmas and happy new year. I expect this will be the final blog of the year. All the kids are coming home, so I expect the next couple of weeks to be busy.
This will be a short blog, as there was not much modelling to report this week. Marie has been busy with Christmas preparations, so I have been watching Ember. She continues to learn our ways, and we are still learning hers. House training is getting better but still has some ways to go. Luna and Riley are now regularly playing with her. Ember likes to get things going by running around the coffee table, or chewing on a sleeping dog's ear. Riley stoically puts up with it, but Luna has much less patience and will put Ember in her place. Yesterday we came running when we heard Ember starting whimpering. She had apparently pushed Luna too far and Luna flattened her. A mild limp for a few minutes and Ember was soon back to normal.

Marie has been struggling the last couple of weeks with a persistent cold. It has taken a run at me a couple of times but I have been able to hold it at bay. I have traditionally got sick at Christmas so we will see how much longer I can hold it off.
I managed just one bike ride in the last week before the weather turned too cold. Lots of snow Saturday so the trails will have good riding. But the forecast is showing temperature no warmer than -23C for the next 5 days so not likely going out anytime soon. Even the dogs don't want to go out in these temperatures.
A very good high school friend passed away on December 6. He was in good health and with no known health issues. It is very sobering to realize that friends and peers are passing away, sometimes with no warning. The funeral was on Thursday, and I made a one day trip to Calgary to attend. It was good to see the old high school gang, and get caught up with everyone. Wish it was under different conditions.
Lancaster
Filling the old dorsal turret became a continuing effort. it is now done but took several more applications of filler.
I bought a series of modelling specific brushes last time I was in Edmonton. I tried the dry brushing specific brush on the landing gear bays and was surprised at what a difference it made.
Wing assembly was trouble free but needed clamps to hold the joints while the glue dried. The fuselage to wing joint will need a smear of Mr Surface to close up a small gap.

Anson
Progress on the Anson was limited to spraying the interior with the appropriate green colour. Detailing painting of the instruments, using black, is only just started.

And that's if for this week, and this year. Stay safe and warm. Merry Christmas.
