August came and went in a rush. It ended up being a very busy month. After months of trying, sending in hundreds of resumes, Christine received two job offers within days of each other. One initially appeared to be her dream, managing construction in health care, but turned out to be a three year contract rather than permanent employment. Things slowed down a little in July. Daniel came home with us after Nicholas' wedding, working from home for the first few days, then taking in the Stampede opening weekend. It is always great to have him home and we really enjoyed the time he spent with us. He even managed to persuade us to visit the stampede grounds. For the first time in at least 20 years, Marie and I headed to down to the grounds, and even attended the grandstand show. Christine has been plugging away

For something different, this edition of the blog was written in a parking lot, while waiting in an airport, and while on an airplane. It has been an eventful month, filled with significant events. Taking things in chronological: Christine has graduated! She finished her Master in Architecture at the UofC this past May, graduating with honors. We attended her graduation ceremony, the first we have been able to attend for many different reasons, the second week of June. S

It has been a while since the last post. I am sure to miss something in the monthly summary. Marie and I had a fantastic time on our spring cruise. We were gone almost a month, starting with 3 days in Venice, 24 days on board the Star Legend as it cruised around Italy, Croatia, Sicily, Crete, Greece and Turkey. It feels like it has been a quiet month but, in reflection, lots has happened. The weather was fantastic for the first two weeks of the month. Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday. It was wonderful to have all the kids home for Christmas. The weather was wonderful and we had a great time. Activities included visiting both grandmas, seeing Zoolights, and brunch in the dome at the Banff Springs. The kids got out skating on the local pond a couple times, and made it into the mountains to ski and skate. I had my hernia follow up with the surgeon on January 7.
